Meal Program Happenings: Hunger doesn’t stay at home

Hunger doesn’t stay at home - and neither do we. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been serving bag-lunches and meals to-go across our three meal programs and four meal sites. Our guests have been mindful of the social distancing guidelines set in place and are extremely grateful for the services we’re providing. During this time, few meals are being served around the city and many are going hungry. We have a Mission to feed Milwaukee’s hungry and homeless populations and we will continue to do so in mind, body and spirit.

  • Our Breakfast Program has been serving 70-90+ individuals on a daily basis.

  • Our Dinner Program has be serving 80-100+ guests every Monday and Wednesday.

  • On Saturdays we serve hundreds of bag lunches across all four meal sites (with the exception of Mt. Carmel which serves every 2nd and 4th Saturday).

As a reminder: Protocols are changing daily, we have been working closely with Milwaukee’s Health Department, and the Executive Committee of our board, to implement the best practices. As a result, we will continue to serve Milwaukee’s hungry in the safest way possible by following a specific list of safeguards.

We hope you will consider joining us in our Mission.

During this time we are seeking monetary donations to continue operating our three meal programs. The Gathering needs your support now more than ever.
