At The Gathering, we serve free, freshly prepared meals every day at each of our four Milwaukee locations—ensuring that anyone facing hunger has a warm, nutritious meal.

In addition to our own meal sites, we partner with five community organizations to extend our reach even further.

Beyond serving food, we connect our guests with vital resources that address hunger, homelessness, and related challenges.

Join us for a dazzling Mardi Gras celebration in support of The Gathering’s mission! This year, we’re thrilled to host the event at our new venue, the Woman’s Club of Wisconsin, where the evening will come alive with festive energy and heartfelt purpose.

In 2024, The Gathering served more than 93,000 meals to individuals and families across nine food distribution locations in Milwaukee. These meals are more than sustenance—they are a symbol of community care in a city where 1 in 7 residents faces food insecurity, and the need continues to grow.

30 Years of Partnership Providing Food Rescue

For more than 30 years, The Gathering has partnered with generous food providers like Steren McDonald’s and others more recently, such as Amazon, Panera, and Starbucks, to rescue and repurpose food. Through dedicated staff pick-ups and delivery routes, our no-waste initiative continues to expand—reducing landfill waste while feeding our neighbors in need. These food rescue efforts not only support our mission but also create a shared benefit for all partners involved, turning potential waste into nourishment, community, and impact.
