Meal Sites

  • St. James' Episcopal Church
    Breakfast - Monday through Friday

Volunteer Opportunities:

Cooking (Saturdays)

  • Done on site at one of our three Saturday lunch sites with menus and all supplies provided
  • 7:00-10:00 a.m. every 4-6 weeks
  • On-the-job training provided
  • For teams of 2-6
  • Commitment of 1 year

Serving (Saturdays & Week Days)

  • Assist in final food preparation and set up, serving and clean up
  • Saturday - groups of 15-20 needed; 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
  • Week Days - individuals & groups of 3-8; Breakfast - 7:00-10:00 a.m. (M-F); Dinner - 4:00-6:00 p.m. (M&W)
  • No training needed; no long term commitment
  • Appropriate for families with children 8 years old and above and youth groups - call the office for guidelines on age appropriate jobs

 

Coordinating (Saturdays)

  • Welcome, orient and direct the Saturday volunteer serving groups at all 3 lunch sites
  • Need to be a team builder, motivator, flexible and well-organized
  • On-the-job training provided
  • 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. every 4-6 weeks
  • Commitment of 2 years

Other Ways to Volunteer

In addition to participating in our meal ministry, there are several other volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups. Call us and staff can help you decide which would work best.

  • Supply Distributions: Groups are encouraged to collect toiletries, warm socks and other items needed by our guests. Items are distributed when there is enough for all.
  • Special cleaning projects
  • Serving on Gathering committees
  • Donating in-kind services such as printing, laminating, equipment & site maintenance.
  • Fundraising
